Academic Invited Speaker Dr. Paul Verhaeghen ![]() |
(Age Differences in) Focus Switching and Retrieval Dynamics Dr. Verhaeghen is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Georgia Tech specializing in cognition and brain science. Most of his research centers around cognitive aging: What happens to people's minds as they grow older? His claim is that there are predictable lines along which people age, which he thinks are a function of at least two things: (a) whether the task is verbal or visuo-spatial, and (b) whether the task involves a high need for cognitive control in working memory or not. Join us for a special luncheon with Dr. Paul Verhaeghen during which he will present some of his latest work examining the cognitive changes that occur as we age. Podcast of Dr. Verhaeghen's talk Video of Dr. Verhaeghen's talk (under Dr. Pittman's menu - available only on-campus intranet) |
