Children’s Shelter, Managua, Nicaragua

There are not any words to describe this great trip to Managua, Nicaragua. It was filled with helping out at a nutrition center, which included counting inventory, painting walls, and endless fun with the children. We had the chance to experience both the good and bad of Nicaragua. The beautiful scenery made for great sightseeing and the poverty was a humbling experience. The bonds we formed not only with the children, but also with the workers and Nicaragua residents are memories we will keep for a lifetime. The lesson we took away from this trip was a basic one that is challenging to bring back to the United States: the simple things in life are worth living for.
